Karen Brightwell joined Sterling Financial Management in February 2023 as the office manager in the Hagerstown office. She has over 25 years of experience in banking and financial services. Karen is detail-oriented, has excellent time management skills and more than 15 years of leadership experience.  

 

For the last ten years, Karen worked as the mortgage post-closing coordinator for West Town Bank & Trust, where she developed policies and procedures for the department, managed daily activities for the post-closing team and ensured loan deadlines were met in a timely manner for investors. Karen also served as a teller supervisor at PNC Bank, substitute teacher for Washington County Public Schools and office manager for National City Mortgage.

Karen lives on a farm in Boonsboro with her husband, where they raise cows and pigs. They have two grown daughters and four grandchildren. Karen volunteers with the Boonsboro Ambulance & Rescue Company, is CPR-certified and enjoys traveling.
